Before Permanent Eyebrows
Micropigmentation of eyebrows is a semi-permanent tattooing technique that creates effortless full brows. Cosmetic tattooing unlike regular tattooing is more superficial to the skin, and pigments used are much more degradable with a thinner consistency. Over time the pigmented areas will fade. Any eyebrows procedure requires touch-ups, usually, clients need two sessions to get their perfect brows. The average person needs touch-up 4-8 weeks after the first session depending on their skin type and healing abilities. The skin might push out a bit of pigment, so it is important to correct those spots. Any imperfections or light changes could be done during the second appointment.
Before the appointment please consider your aesthetics, you can bring your favorite brow product or examples of eyebrows that you like. Please remember that "Eyebrows are sisters, not twins". It is important for you to understand that and have realistic expectations. Yes, we are looking for perfection, but nobody's features are 100% symmetrical. For example, one side above your brow bone is more flat or rounded or simply one muscle pulls the eyebrow higher. Eyes placement might be different too. Eyebrows frame the face, there is not a one size fits all. That's why it is important to advise a client what will look the best on them.
Permanent Eyebrows Process
Choose the time wisely and make sure you will follow the aftercare accurately. Please allow time for healing before going on vacation or any special events.
After numbing the skin (if needed), drawing is the most important part. Only after your approval of the shape, the artist will start the actual tattooing process. Before that, you will get a chance also to approve the color of the pigment. During the first session, it is good to start from lighter shades, it is easier to darken eyebrows than make them lighter. Remember in permanent makeup procedures less is more. You can always come back for more if you feel that your eyebrows are too thin or too light.
During eyebrows tattooing, the technician will use a permanent makeup machine with a pen-like handle and super thin, single-needle tip to scratch the whole pigmented area and implement the pigment. Topical numbing cream will be reapplied to decrease any discomfort. After the procedure your eyebrows will look much darker, this will fade after all scabbing is done.
Permanent Eyebrows Touch Up
Maintenance of permanent eyebrows includes touch-ups yearly or in rare cases bi-yearly. Very oily skin types with large pores are the most difficult to work with and often it is harder to obtain great retention. If you are prone to scarring or keloids, you might not be a good candidate for this procedure.
Brow Waxing And Tinting
Should be done no sooner than two weeks before the permanent eyebrows procedure. It is important to keep your natural brows hair and follow your natural shape. Some small corrections are good, but we need to consider long-term results and maintenance.
Botox And Fillers
Please keep 2-4 weeks of the distance between permanent makeup and Botox procedures. It is better to start with permanent makeup before Botox since the permanent makeup results last longer. Botox can help correct bigger asymmetries.
Medical Consideration Before Eyebrows Tattoo
If you suffer any disease or take medicines that might affect your healing, please inform your technician. Sometimes technicians might ask for a doctor's release note, to make sure that this treatment is right for you.
